CAT Scan

What is a CT Scan (or CAT Scan)

Computerised (Axial) Tomography , sometimes called a CT Scan (or CAT Scan), uses special x-ray equipment to obtain many images from different angles and then joins them together to show a cross-section of the jaws, nerves or maxillary sinuses and other anatomical landmarks.

Cat Scan

Quick, non-invasive and requiring only a very low radiation exposure, CT scanning can be used as an aid to diagnosis, helping your dentist to identify potential problem areas without the need for exploratory surgery.

One of the senior assistants will take the CT Scan, and then our CT analyst will evaluate it with your Implantologist and/or Dentist.

Why have a CT-Scan?

There are certain cases within Oral Surgery and Implantology practice where the Ortho-Pantograph (OP) X-ray does not reveal enough anatomical information to allow us to perform a procedure. In such cases we use the CT Scan system.
