Gnathological Treatment

Gnathological Treatment is a speciality within dentistry. The dentist examines the occlusion of the upper and lower jaws, that is, the fitting of the upper and lower teeth against each other and how the joints and muscles of the jaws are functioning.

A poor occlusion can cause many health problems, such as headaches, facial pain and insomnia. Usually the patient does not realize that they have this condition and the dentist is often unable to discover a faulty occlusion by way of a regular examination.

Gnathological Treatment allows the dentist to measure the relationship of the jaws with special devices and treat the patient accordingly.
